Introduction
Welcome to the Buckeye Cam X-Series Network Manager Software tutorial. In this article, we will explore the AI recognition package and detail how to utilize it effectively within the X-Series Network Manager Software.
Upon launching your X-Series Network Manager, the first step is to check if your system meets the minimum requirements to run the AI image recognition feature. To verify this, follow these steps:
- Click on the menu bars located in the upper right-hand corner of the software window.
- Select the "About" option. This will populate a panel on the right side of the software window, confirming whether your system can run the AI package.
The AI image recognition feature is included in software versions 3.2.4 or higher and is distributed through update notifications found under the green arrow at the top of the software window. If your computer meets the requirements, this arrow will turn green, signaling that new software updates are available. Click the green arrow to download these updates, and once the download is complete, proceed to install the update. After the installation, restart the software to apply the updates.
Once the software is restarted, navigate to the menu in the upper right-hand corner, click on "Notifications," and you will find the AI image recognition feature available for use. To create unique AI profiles, click on the Edit button. Within each profile, you can define various parameters, such as:
- Naming the profile
- Activating or deactivating the profile
- Applying the profile to specific cameras or groups of cameras
- Adding targets of interest, like people, vehicles, or both
After setting the profile criteria, you can add action items, which may include:
- Limiting the time of day for the profile to operate
- Emailing images
- Saving pictures to a file
- Enabling sound features when a picture is taken
Additionally, you can include "otherwise actions," which are actions triggered when none of the targets in the profile are recognized.
It's essential to understand that the same camera can be included in multiple profiles. Therefore, if two profiles with the same camera are set to email pictures, two emails may be sent for the same image. By default, an object can be recognized anywhere in the image. However, if you want to control the specific location for recognition, you can add zones of interest.
To define these zones, click on the camera to open its control panel, then select the "Detection Zones." These zones determine where an object must be situated to be recognized in the profile. Note that zones do not control motion detection; motion detection and triggering remain unchanged from previous settings.
