Getting Started with Talking Avatars
If you're a first-time visitor, thanks for joining us! Today, we’re going to learn how to create a basic starter avatar that features a talking head and makes cool movements. To get going, I'm using my subscription service to craft prompts, and you can find a pre-written prompt in the description bar. Feel free to modify it as you see fit.
Image Generation
Next, we’ll take our prompt and head over to an image generator with my subscription. Here, we’ll input our script and run it to see what is created. I particularly enjoy this image generator because it allows you to make your own machine learning models. The options are vast, and you're sure to find something that fits your vision.
For this project, I've chosen a whimsical outfit or prompt to generate a character image. Once we find the right picture, we can modify the images further if needed, thanks to the deep modular changes feature.
Utilizing Canva
After selecting our avatar, we'll move to Canva to edit the image. We download the picture from our image generator and upload it to Canva. Here, we can utilize Canva’s Magic Expand tool, which will help fill out the image while maintaining a 16:9 ratio. Once we apply this tool, Canva will give us four options to choose from, allowing us to select the one we like best.
Voice Generation with 11 Labs
Next up is adding voice! Using a subscription service from 11 Labs, we’ll create instant voice cloning by recording some audio. Follow their instructions for uploading the audio, and you’ll have a language model that sounds just like you. After creating the voice model, I put my text into the software to generate the script for our avatar.
Combining Elements
Now that we have our image from Canva and our audio file from 11 Labs, we’ll combine them to produce our final product. Let’s hear how it sounds, and just like that, we’ve completed our talking avatar!
This digital creation is a culmination of effort and a whisper of what the future holds. Just like our avatar, the year ahead represents a blank canvas waiting for our creative brushstrokes.
