cool stuff I made with Cheap Bots Done Quick and Perchance

Science & Technology

Introduction

Recently, Twitter made another controversial decision by restricting free access to its API. This change heavily impacts many bot accounts, affecting both serious applications and fun gimmick bots alike. Whether or not you enjoy Twitter bots, this move represents a significant shift. As a result, I'm sharing some of the bots I created using the easy-to-use platform Cheap Bots Done Quick and the generator website Perchance.org.

Game News Network Bot

One of the main projects I worked on was a bot called Game News Network. The aim was to emulate game news journalism by creating humorous, fake articles. I utilized various templates, input game names, and accompanying images to generate ridiculous headlines. Though the bot only garnered seven followers, it produced some entertaining outputs, like the day it proclaimed, "Ape Escape 2 is a disaster!" Despite receiving mixed reactions, it was fun to create. Sadly, this bot will be shutting down soon due to Twitter's API changes.

I built this bot with Cheap Bots Done Quick, which is a user-friendly tool that simplifies the coding needed to make a Twitter bot. The platform allows you to fill in templates and customize various settings, such as posting frequency. My bot, for example, was set to post every three hours. Unfortunately, I had planned to update it further, but the looming shut down stymied those plans.

Crypto Tracking Bot

In addition to Game News Network, I made a simple Crypto Tracking Bot that was supposed to provide hourly updates on random cryptocurrencies. However, it only managed to attract two followers. The bot would generate random currency icons and percentages, but I'm still not sure about the intent behind it.

Perchance.org Generators

Aside from bots, I've spent time creating various text generators on Perchance.org, a popular site for building and sharing random generators. My first generator was a Borderlands Gun Creator, which randomly generates weapon types, names, and stats. I found the platform's community-friendly features, like the ability to copy elements from others’ projects, immensely helpful for someone like me with limited coding skills.

One of my favorite generators is the Alternate Universe Game Generator, which fabricates fictional games. Titles like "Netflix Survival Evolved for the Nintendo Switch" and "Resident Evil Village Gold Edition" emerged from it. This project required considerable effort as it involved sourcing images and resizing them for consistent output.

Another interesting generator I created provides Patch Notes. This generator randomly generates fake patch updates for games, often featuring absurd elements that are sure to amuse.

Lastly, I developed the MF Mouse Content Generator, which gives you a random timestamp from my YouTube videos or VODs. Inspired by other creators, this generator allows users to explore random moments from my content, although it requires manual updates over time.

Conclusion

Creating these bots and generators was a rewarding experience, allowing me to dive deeper into programming concepts without extensive coding knowledge. I hope Twitter eventually reconsiders its API restrictions, as these tools brought fun and engagement to the platform. If you're curious or want to try out any of my creations, I will include the links below.
