Getting Started with Design AI
First, let’s create an account on the Design AI website. To do this, visit the website and click on the "Log In" button at the top right corner. Once you’ve set up your account, you’ll find yourself in the dashboard, which offers many features that we will explore in future tutorials. But today, we’ll focus solely on converting images into 3D animations and cartoons in the beloved Pixar and Disney style.
Uploading Your Image
Choosing Your Image: Begin by selecting an image of your choice. This can be a photo of yourself, family, friends, or even a celebrity.
Uploading the Image: In the "Select from an image" section, click on the "Select a photo" button. Once the new window opens, choose and upload your desired image. After a brief waiting period (depending on your internet speed), your image will appear in the workspace.
Selecting Animation Styles
Once your image is uploaded, the image panel on the left will open, presenting you with a variety of styles. Design AI offers multiple default styles such as anime, paper cutout, cartoon, and watercolor. To access these styles:
- Click on the "No Style" tab, and a drop-down list with dozens of exciting styles will appear.
- Select the "3D" option to find styles specifically designed to transform images into 3D.
After testing various options, I found that the "Innocent Cue" style provided the best results.
Crafting the Perfect Prompt
A good prompt is crucial for obtaining high-quality results. You can either type it manually or use the auto prompt option. I opted for the auto prompt feature which analyzes the image and generates a textual prompt. Since I’m using an image of a well-known actor, I simply typed his name in the prompt box.
Adjusting Settings for Optimal Results
In addition to the prompt, there are several adjustable settings to enhance the final output:
- Style Intensity: Adjust how strongly the chosen style is presented. A value of 0.7 worked well for me.
- Structure Match: This setting adjusts how well the generated image matches the input content structure. Again, 0.7 worked effectively.
- Color Match: Helps to preserve color tones in the main image regions.
- Face Match: Ensures face identities are maintained.
Generating and Exporting Your Animation
After adjusting these settings, click the "Generate" button. Your request will be processed, and in a short while, four images will be generated, displayed as thumbnails in the results panel.
Previewing the Results: Hover over the thumbnails to view larger versions. Double-click your selected image to add it to the workspace.
Exporting: After selecting your desired layer, click on the export button at the top right corner. Choose "JPEG" in the export panel and download the image to your device.
