How To Create Your Own Talking Avatar Using Free Canva AI?

If you're one of those camera-shy individuals, today is your lucky day! In this Canva AI tutorial, I'll guide you through the effortless steps to bring your written words to life with a talking avatar. Are you ready to bid farewell to self-consciousness? Let's dive in!

Step 1: Launch the Platform

First things first, you need to launch the application. You can either do this via your web browser or download the Canva application to your desktop. For those who are budget-conscious, worry not, since it's free to download on nearly all operating systems. The desktop version has all the same features as the web version, but I prefer using the web version due to battery conservation.

Step 2: Log In or Register

If you already have an account, log in using your preferred method, whether it’s Gmail, Facebook, or your Windows account. New to Canva? No problem! Click the sign-up button and use one of the provided options to register. After signing up, you’ll reach a personalization tab to tailor the platform to your needs. If you choose the wrong option, don’t stress! You can modify it in the app settings later. After dealing with a brief Canva Pro advertisement, you can choose to either sign up for a free trial or simply continue with the free version.

Step 3: Going to Work

Once in your Canva dashboard, notice the colorful icons in front of you. Select the pink icon that says "Video." For visually rich projects, I recommend choosing dimensions in the 16:9 widescreen format. Click the first template in the dropdown menu to open your design. You can always customize your dimensions if needed.

Change the design name to "Talking Avatar" for easy retrieval later. On the right sidebar, click on "Apps." Search for the AI feature by typing "haen AI" (without spaces). After selecting it, you’ll see various avatar options. If none suit your taste, you can upload your own, but make sure to connect your Canva account to the AI platform first.

Once you’ve selected or uploaded your avatar, choose your view mode (I suggest the rectangular option). Next, upload your script—either type it directly or upload an audio file. If writing isn’t your forte, consider using ChatGPT to draft a script! Once ready, select an accent closest to your own, listen to your script, and then click 'generate.'

Step 4: Editing the Video

After your avatar is generated, click "Add to Design." You might find the video small; right-click on it and select "Set Video as Background." Use the play button to preview your video. If satisfied, select the video and click "Edit Video" from the header for additional editing options.

Although background removal is a premium feature, you can enhance your video by adjusting elements in the adjust tab, adding filters, and experimenting with design templates. When you've perfected your animation, click on the gray share button and choose "Download" to get your MP4 video.

Step 5: Getting Multiple Trials

You can only make longer videos as a paid member. However, if you only got one credit upon signing up, here's a tip: head over to "My Apps," delete the haen AI from your collection, and sign up again using a temporary email (like one from tempmail). This way, you can enjoy additional credits for your talking avatar!

Step 6: Monetizing Your Avatar

Not everyone frequents YouTube, but educational and tutorial videos are trending! Use a talking avatar to showcase recipes, services, or expertise and upload them on platforms like YouTube. By gaining enough views, you can earn money from ads. Additionally, consider creating infographics or affiliate marketing videos for small businesses. The possibilities are nearly endless with these avatars and can potentially lead to financial gain.
