HOW TO MAKE OUTRO/ENDSCREEN VIDEO IN CANVA
Howto & Style
Introduction
Creating an engaging outro or end screen video for your YouTube channel can enhance viewer interaction and encourage subscriptions. In this article, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of making an end screen video using Canva.
Step-by-Step Guide
Open Canva: Start by navigating to the Canva website.
Create a New Project:
- In the search bar, type “YouTube Thumbnail.”
- Select the blank template to begin customizing your end screen.
Choose a Background:
- Opt for a background that matches your branding. You can upload an image you have or select one from Canva's available options.
- For this tutorial, I used the same background from my YouTube intro.
Add Video Elements:
- Navigate to the elements section and search for a “circle GIF.” This will serve as your channel subscription icon.
- Browse the options and select a circle GIF that complements your background.
Incorporating Video Promotion Areas:
- Now, search for a “rectangle GIF” to promote the videos you want to showcase.
- Choose a rectangle GIF that maintains a consistent theme with the circle GIF.
- Adjust the size of the rectangle as needed. If one rectangle isn’t sufficient, duplicate it, crop, and adjust it to fit your design.
Adjust Background and Elements:
- You can modify your background by adjusting the saturation and brightness or by applying filters available in Canva.
Add Text:
- Insert a text box with your message, for example, “Thank you for watching.”
- Customize the font style to your liking and apply text effects, such as shadows.
- Add another text box with a call to action, like “Don’t forget to like and subscribe.” Emphasize key phrases by changing their color—select red for “like” and “subscribe.”
Insert Social Media Icons:
- Search for logos of popular social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in the elements section.
- Adjust their size and placement according to your overall design.
Final Touches:
- Add another text section for your social media usernames and ensure that all elements are uniform in size and alignment.
Animate Your Design:
- Click on the “Animate” button, and choose from a variety of animation styles. For simplicity, a block animation might be a good choice.
Download Your Video:
- Click on the download button and make sure to select the file type as MP4 video. Once the download is complete, you can view your created outro.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully created your end screen video in Canva.
