I’m still in Pain!!!? #shorts
Last week, I experienced a mix of excitement and pain that I wouldn’t wish on anyone. It all started on a beautiful day at the beach in Hawaii. The sun was shining, the waves were crashing, and my kids were having the time of their lives. One of the perks of our job is that our children get to make friends all over the world, which makes adventures like this even more special.
While enjoying the beach, we met some local Hawaiian families who were engaging in some thrilling water activities. They were doing these jaw-dropping jumps that looked like so much fun. Naturally, they wanted me to join in, and given my personality, I couldn’t say no. I tend to embrace challenges head-on, especially when I’m surrounded by laughter and excitement.
The locals were eager to teach me this special jump they were performing, but they warned me of one crucial rule: don’t land on your back. I took in their advice but perhaps didn't heed the warning with the seriousness it deserved.
With a bunch of 12-year-olds cheering me on, I got caught up in the moment, and honestly, I felt young and invincible! However, in an unfortunate turn of events, I completely miscalculated my landing and ended up landing directly on my back.
Now, I'm here to address my fellow thirty-somethings – and this message is mainly aimed at myself. This experience was a stark reminder that while I may still feel youthful inside, I'm not a kid anymore. Recklessness can lead to real consequences.
As I write this, I'm still in pain from that ill-fated jump, and it's a humbling reminder to think before acting recklessly. So if you're in your thirties like me, please take a moment to assess your actions before participating in activities that require the flexibility and resilience of a teenager.
