Introduction
In the past 30 days, I successfully made over $ 22,000 through affiliate marketing. Today, I’m excited to share my updated Pinterest affiliate marketing strategy with you. This strategy has allowed me to grow my personal Pinterest account to over 100,000 followers and garner millions of views. The best part? You can start implementing this strategy with zero investment and no prior experience today. Let’s dive in!
What is Affiliate Marketing?
For those unfamiliar, affiliate marketing involves promoting a brand's products or services using a unique link. When someone clicks on your link and makes a purchase, you earn a commission.
Step 1: Picking Your Niche
Choosing the right niche is crucial. The most popular niches on Pinterest include:
- Women’s Fashion
- Home Decor
- Finance
- Fitness
- Travel
My personal favorite is the finance niche, but I’ve also discovered that self-improvement presents an abundance of opportunities.
The self-improvement niche allows you to share tips on becoming the best version of yourself, giving you access to a diverse range of affiliate products such as:
- Books
- Health Supplements
- Journals & Planners
- Workout Equipment
- Money-Saving Strategies
Once you've chosen a niche, the next step is to create your Pinterest account.
Step 2: Setting Up Your Pinterest Account
I created a business account by selecting “Convert to Business Account” in the settings. I chose the profile name “Better Life Self-Improvement Tips,” which succinctly describes my content.
Step 3: Finding Products to Promote
With your Pinterest account ready, it’s time to identify products to promote. An excellent starting point is becoming an Amazon affiliate by registering at Amazon Associates. This allows you to promote virtually any product available on Amazon.
To create your custom website for affiliate promotions, I recommend using Shopify. They currently offer a free trial that costs only $ 1 per month for the first three months. Follow these steps after signing up:
- Select a plan.
- Add your business address.
- Customize your store to hide unnecessary sections and add affiliate links.
Make sure to save your settings, and remember to include your website URL in your Pinterest bio.
Step 4: Creating Affiliate Links
Once your website is established, sign up for the Amazon Associates program. After you complete the registration, you can promote any products you find on Amazon.
Searching for ideas? Look for “best self-improvement products” on Google to get a list of popular items. Good examples include:
- Think and Grow Rich (The Book)
- 5-Minute Journal
- Vision Board Kit
- At-Home Gym Setup
- Planners
You can also consider programs from platforms like Impact and ClickBank for additional high-paying affiliate programs.
Step 5: Promoting on Pinterest
Now for the fun part: promoting your affiliate links. You must create original content to promote these links. Using Canva, create striking images that will draw attention on Pinterest.
Here’s how to do that in Canva:
- Click on "Create a Design" and select "Pinterest Pin."
- Explore various templates available on Canva.
- Customize the selected template to promote your chosen product and include your affiliate link.
Uploading Content to Pinterest
To upload, click the "+" button on Pinterest, add a title, include your affiliate link, insert relevant tags, and select an appropriate board.
To maximize your reach, aim to post at least three images and two videos daily. Quality content combined with consistency will help your account grow!
